Alice Cooper Continues To Resist Promoting The AMP Awards for Music & Sound

Rock & Roll legend Alice Cooper is back to reluctantly promote the AMP Awards for Music & Sound. Earlier he was upset about being asked to help convince music and sound artisans to enter their work in the competition. This time around, he’s not too enthused over being tasked with trying to push ticket sales for the awards gala.
When told by an off-camera voice that the AMP Awards are cool, he counters by observing that even cooler is not having to promote an awards show he’s never heard of. Cooper walks off the stage. And when he’s out of the camera’s view, we hear him declare, “The only thing worse than this is the chicken thing,” a reference to back in the day when a barnyard animal was incorporated into his concert performance.
The anti-promotional promo spot, titled “HUH,” was created and produced in partnership with Attic22, the in-house production studio of ad agency Johannes Leonardo.
“HUH” is one of three AMP Awards promo videos--including one featuring rocker John Oates--helmed by Mitchell Wojcik, director and photographer of Attic22, which handled all production and post. In addition to appearing on AMP’s social media platforms, the promos are being shared on AMP’s YouTube and Vimeo channels.
Tickets for the AMP Awards ceremony on May 15 at Sony Hall in New York are now on sale.
